Inducted in 2010
Marc has been involved with the league since 1978 when the league consisted of only 4 teams and was called Southwest Athletic Team Supporters, or S.W.A.T.S. In 1983, when the league joined NAGAAA, he coached the first team that the league sent to the Gay Softball World Series in Chicago, Mineshaft. They finished 10th place.
Marc moved to San Francisco for 9 years where he served on the SF gay softball league’s board for 2 years. He participated in bringing the Gay Softball World Series to the city in 2001.
Marc has also attended several Gay Games events and the World Outgames in Sydney, Australia. His team took home the Silver medal. Darn that team from Dallas!
He has served on the board of Surf and Sun in all capacities, from Commissioner to the gopher. He has been the Liberty Classic Director on numerous occasions and been able to represent our league at the Gay Softball World Series several times.
In 2010, he was honored to be elected into the Surf and Sun Hall of Fame. Four years later, he was inducted to the NAGAAA Hall of Fame, becoming the 3rd member from Surf and Sun to be inducted. On both occasions, it was very humbling and with great pride to have been elected.
